Our Friends Got Married!!
Every time the two of us go to a wedding as regular guests, I always get a little nervous. I ask (way too many times for the joke to continue being funny), "What do I do with my HANDS? What do I NORMALLY do with my hands?!"
Last weekend, we headed to Long Island for Pete and Chantie's wedding. Chris has known Pete since he came to New York for film school, so he's the oldest friend Chris has here. We met Chantie about a year and a half ago, and she is sweet, supportive, and buckets of fun. Pete clearly has excellent taste.
We decided to extend our time out of the city and make a weekend trip out of it, so Chris and I had great food, played mini golf, walked along the water, and just relaxed. It was an awesome choice!
Their wedding was lots of fun, and they and their families were warm, inviting hosts, so I stopped feeling awkward about what I'm supposed to do, and I started doing what everyone else was. I danced until my earrings flew off, and then I danced some more. I ate. And then I ate some more! I made friends with a three-year-old. I made silly, unflattering faces in a photo booth with a fake mustache and a pipe. I held on to Chris tightly and sipped champagne while people's toasts made me cry.
Since I might be physically incapable of attending a wedding and taking NO photos, here are some of the shots I took for fun.
Here's to balancing work and play, to spending time with friends, and to this happy couple we got to celebrate!!
