Alex and Dan's NYC City Hall Wedding and Karaoke Afterparty
This elopement was a wonderful way to start a morning!
Alex and Dan were first in line at the Manhattan Marriage Bureau, so they were the first couple of the day to be married. They were joined by a small group of friends and family for the ceremony. In a particularly touching moment, Alex's grandma served as their witness, so she signed their marriage license before the ceremony, making their brand new marriage official. When the officiant handed her the licence after they were pronounced married, she exclaimed, "Oh, boys! It's beautiful!"
In an act of particular wedding brilliance, they went from their City Hall ceremony to a dim sum lunch, took a nap, and then celebrated with a larger group of people later in the evening with a Karaoke reception. Since Chris and I had karaoke after our own wedding, this was a move close to my heart. Alex, Dan, and their friends and family were even gracious enough to let me sing! Dan's brother got a great shot of me rocking "Take Me or Leave Me" from "Rent," and I got a pair of wonderful new friends!
